a Polish painter and graphic artist. For many years he was working
in Russia. Orlovskyi has contributed to development of realism in
Russian art, mainly in the graphics. |

| March 20, 1840 - Illarion Mihayilovich Pryanishnikov,
a Russian painter, an author of pictures with hunting themes and genre
painting. |
| March 30, 1853 - Vinsent Van Gogh, a Dutch painter,
one of the greatest artists of the 19th century. Van Gogh used colour
spectrum based on sharp color contrasts. He used an intensive and
dynamical painting manner with sinuous strokes of the painting-brush.
In this manner Van Gogh created numerous landscapes, still lifes,
portraits and interiors. |
